Fruit
The fruit does not create the life. The life produces the fruit. Love, joy, and peace are not manufactured. They are what a spawned, abiding life releases.
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control.”
Galatians 5:22–23
Which fruit is this passage pressing?
Oppression is the opposite of love of neighbor. Where did these chapters catch you using someone?
The midwives feared God and saved the boys. Where is courage missing when obedience will cost you?
Moses’ anger killed a man and solved nothing. Where is your anger producing harm instead of justice?
Pharaoh’s hardness is a warning about self-control. Where are you refusing a clear word and calling it strength?
Joy is thin in slavery, but God is already moving. Where have you let misery become your only true sentence about God?
Moses hid in Midian. Where are you hiding instead of returning to the thing God named?
A priest’s house received a fugitive. Who have you refused that you could receive?
Where should the fruit of this week be visible by Sunday — at home, at work, or in the way you speak about enemies?
The mushroom exists to release spores. Christian fruit exists to make disciples. A life that bears no witness has missed the point of the fruit.
Who will I tell, and what am I carrying to them?
Who needs to hear that God hears groaning before He explains the timeline?
The midwives feared God more than Pharaoh. Who needs that kind of courage named, not lectured?
What one sentence from Exodus 1–5 could you actually say to a person this week?
Who is living under a hardness like Pharaoh’s, and are you praying for them or avoiding them?
Moses did not want to go. Who are you withholding a word from because you feel unqualified?
What false name for God are people around you using, and how would you say His real Name simply?
Who will you ask to read Exodus 1–5 with you, or at least hear why it matters?
Name the person, the scene, and the day you will open your mouth.
